I have a secret... wanna hear about it? OPEN THE EMAIL!
OK, so here's the deal. I want you to have access to everything we are working on as soon as possible. And you know that because if you are regularly paying attention to my discord and coming to my events, you know I drop things in there early all of the time (if the Bindery team is reading this, I am JOKING. I would NEVER share things I'm not supposed to!).
My philosophy is: we are in this together and I want you to be involved! Especially if the entire goal is for us to be working together as a community to fight for our authors to take up space. Right?
Which is why when the Bindery team suggested that we add early ARCs to our perks for our paid tiers, I jumped at the opportunity to ask what y'all thought. Because one of the few parts of this process I have hated is having to keep these stories from you for so long!
You helped me to pick the stories I want to fight for. And you have been here, fighting for those stories right beside me since day one.
I WANT YOU TO FREAKING READ THEM!!!!
And now that can happen!
Starting with Devil of the Deep, if you are a paid subscriber (at any tier), you will be getting an ARC of all of our published books five to six months before launch, instead of a finished copy a few weeks early. Our goal is to get the stories you believe in in your hands as soon as possible. Which opens the door for me to do early bookclub with you guys and for you to have more useful conversations with our authors earlier in this process. So many of you are already championing our authors. It can only make things easier for you to be able to actually read the stories earlier.
And don't worry, we will get you a massive discount when it is time to pre-order those projects!!!
OK, so here is what I need from you:
First of all, if you are not already a paid subscriber, I would love for you to upgrade right now. Especially if you want that early copy of Devil of the Deep. That book comes out in spring of 2026, so those ARCs will be going out soon. If you want that one, I need you to upgrade by the 31st of THIS MONTH.
$5 subscribers will get an e-ARC of all future books.
$12 and $25 subscribers will get an e-ARC, a physical ARC, and their names will be listed in the book itself as a collaborator on the project.
Second, I need you to help me spread the word. And let me explain why!
As we have talked about in the past, Bindery is a start-up and our (meaning Left Unread's) ability to expand our efforts and to publish more aggressively is partially dependent on the level of community support we have access to. Our paid subscribers help to fund our publishing projects. And while this community is large and incredibly dedicated, if we want to invest in more authors and in more projects, we have to not only be focused on making sure our books do well, but on also continuing to grow this community so that we have the resources to publish more authors WELL. And this is an incredibly opportunity for us to do exactly that.
So let your people know!
Here are some ideas on how you can capitalize on this moment to encourage your audience/friends to join the community at Left Unread:
Share the content I am making on Social Media about this shift and about the community
Tell your audience how excited you are for your ARC of Devil of the Deep and encourage them to apply for ARCs and to subscribe to the community
Share the graphic I am including in this post and drop a link for the community
Tell your audience/friends that you are excited for Left Unread's exclusive bookclub and invite them to join. Let them know we read all of our books five to six months early and have the chance to meet together and talk to the author before anyone else has even read the book.
As always, thank you so much for being here and never feel pressured to upgrade if it's not reasonable for your family! I know exactly how bad our economy is and I want you to always choose your family! But if $5 or $12 won't break ya, I would love if you would pour that money into helping us change the fucking world. Because that is what we are trying to do. The literature that comes out of the most vulnerable is revolutionary. And the world needs as much of that as it can get right now. So help us make sure it keeps getting produced and shoved down this administrations throat.
Love you all!
